Our Mission

The mission of the Career Services & Cooperative Education Center is to help students successfully transition from their academic pursuits to their career goals by promoting and facilitating career education, exploration of options and connections with employers.

Our Approach

We support students in developing career skills that they will use time and again over the course of their lifetime. This approach reflects the fact that most UMass Lowell graduates will work in several different jobs during their work lives. Our overarching goal, then, while we help students pursue career opportunities in the present, is to teach them the skills they need to pursue opportunities on their own in the future. 

To facilitate this learning we use a career development model to guide students in:

• Discovering their skills, values and interests
• Exploring potential opportunities
• Gaining relevant experience
• Taking steps toward achieving their career goals
